About this speaker
DJ Nicholson is an educational mentor and coach with "super powers" that include creating unique learning options, thinking "outside of the box" and supporting parents of children with learning differences in knowing what's possible for their child's learning success. Her interest in working with children with differences and disabilities began in her childhood when she was on the elementary school playground where she witnessed the exclusion of children who did not "fit the norm"; this resulted in a 27-year commitment (and still going!) to education, coaching, and training that ensures that every child gets what they need to be meaningfully included in learning. As the Director of Inclusiveology, she coaches parents to advocate for their child’s best learning through tools and strategies for engagement, accessibility, and flexibility. Every child must have access to the tools they need to be successful, and by empowering parents with knowledge of the "how" and "why" (and not just the "what"), children will grow in learning, confidence, and independence.
When she is not engaged in her career passions, she is volunteering with a pug rescue group, mentoring young teachers, and doing yoga!
